Saudi Arabia Participates in the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took part in the second Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, organized by the UN World Health Organization (WHO) in New Delhi, India, under the theme “Restoring Balance: the Science and Practice of Health and Well-Being,” reflecting its growing international engagement.

Saudi Arabia was represented by an official delegation comprising Advisor to the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad AbuAbah; Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of International Collaboration at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), Dr. Abdullah Alanazi; and Advisor Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sohbi.

Saudi Arabia's participation was marked by an active presence, as Dr. Alanazi was selected as a key speaker in a scientific session titled “Global Frameworks and Country Implementation.”
In addition, he served as a member of the WHO committee for the summit’s proceedings, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s standing and its advanced expertise in organizing and institutionalizing complementary and alternative medicine.
