Deputy Foreign Minister Abu Bakr Hefny Mahmoud affirmed Egypt’s commitment to launching health initiatives across African countries to support the continent’s health sector, reflecting the spirit of solidarity among African nations in confronting shared challenges, including through initiatives such as “A Million Health”.Hefny delivered Egypt’s address on behalf of Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty during the inaugural meeting of health ministers of the Developing-8 (D-8) group, hosted in Cairo and chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, with the participation of health ministers and senior officials from member states.He noted that the meeting represents one of the key outcomes of the D-8 Summit held in Cairo in December 2024 under the chairmanship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The summit underscored health cooperation as a strategic priority for the group and called for establishing a permanent health collaboration mechanism
