Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched two medical convoys in Bangladesh, deploying volunteering medical professionals from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Sidra Medicine to perform general surgery and cardiac catheterization operations for children at Teknaf Hospital (Cox's Bazar) and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) (Dhaka), respectively. Conducted in cooperation with the local partner, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), the two medical convoys will last until 9 March 2023. They involve free-of-charge surgeries and cardiac catheterizations for low-income refugees at camps and the host community, while the health facilities are struggling in those underserved and overpopulated areas and the other international organizations are focusing on different humanitarian/health needs.
