The World Health Organization (WHO) has made an urgent appeal for $1.5 billion in funding to provide essential health assistance to millions of people affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. This includes regions like Ukraine, Gaza, and Afghanistan.
WHO’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated their goal is to reach approximately 87 million people with life-saving humanitarian aid in the current year. However, they require $1.5 billion in funding to achieve this goal.
“We aim to reach some 87 million people with life-saving humanitarian assistance this year,” said WHO Director-General.
