Tunisia has initiated enhanced health checks at airports, ports, and land border crossings as part of a preventive protocol aimed at containing the potential spread of the Hanta and Ebola viruses. According to the Director General of the National Pharmacovigilance Center, Riadh DaghfousIn an interview with the national news agency "Tap," the measures include a health check of travelers arriving from countries where outbreaks have been reported, with an initial screening based on temperature measurement and, for suspected cases, RT-PCR testing for Ebola. The protocol also includes the establishment of dedicated quarantine areas, the transfer of travelers from entry points to healthcare facilities, and the deployment of specialized personnel for clinical surveillance.
The decision follows a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Health, attended by representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Transport, as well as the Civil Aviation and Airports Authority. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Health. Mustafa Ferjani and dedicated to the analysis of the evolution of the global epidemiological situation.
