Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, member of the scientific COVID committee Riadh Daghfous announced that Tunisia has recorded the first case of COVID-19 JN1 after genetic sequencing.

He noted that there are not a lot of cases with one case being in a stable condition, noting that they have been awaiting this strain since its spread in Europe.

The first case is being reported at Charle Nicole hospital after genetic sequencing, stressing the new strain symptoms are similar to previous strains with fever a bit of cough, running nose, tiredness and headache with sometimes diarrhoea and decreased loss of taste.
