Millions of Sudanese civilians are facing acute food insecurity and unprecedented humanitarian suffering as the ongoing armed conflict continues to devastate the country. According to Leni Kinzley, spokesperson for the World Food Programme, the population is experiencing severe shortages of basic life necessities and an almost complete collapse of health and service infrastructure, representing an unparalleled crisis in Sudan’s history.

The World Food Programme official told media outlets that escalating armed conflict is worsening living and humanitarian conditions for millions of civilians across numerous Sudanese states and regions. Critical services including food distribution, access to clean drinking water, and healthcare have deteriorated to dangerous levels.
