Somalia’s Ministry of Health and Human Services has concluded a two-day national coordination meeting in Mogadishu, bringing together key stakeholders to chart a new course for the country’s healthcare system. Chaired by the Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Haji Adan Abubakar, the conference centered on developing a unified national plan to streamline efforts and strengthen healthcare service delivery across the nation.

The Somalia Health Sector Coordination Meeting 2025 saw high-level participation from federal government officials, state-level health representatives, and a wide array of international partners and donors. Speakers, including the Ministry’s Director-General, Dr. Guled Abdijelil, emphasized the critical importance of a cohesive strategy to avoid duplication of resources and ensure a more efficient and effective health system for the Somali population.
