Pakistan's maternal mortality rate could end after 122 years

Despite significant global progress in sexual and reproductive health and rights over the past three decades, millions of women still lack access to these essential services.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) unveiled its annual report on the State of the World Population 2024, titled “Interwoven Lives, Threads of Hope: Ending Inequalities in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights”.

The report emphasises the necessity of an inclusive approach to achieving progress, underscoring how discrimination continues to block broad gains in sexual and reproductive health for women and girls in many parts of the world.
