A government health report revealed that 291 new suspected cases of measles and dengue fever were recorded in Yemen’s Hadramout coastal districts between May 5 and 10, 2026.
According to the Epidemiological Surveillance Department in Hadramout’s coastal health office, rapid tests confirmed 68 dengue infections 66 in Mukalla, one in Al-Shahr, and one imported case. No new confirmed measles cases or virus-related deaths were reported during the same period.
Measles accounted for the largest increase, with 159 suspected cases in five days. Mukalla registered 53 cases, followed by Al-Shahr (24), Ghail Bawazir (22), Al-Dis (15), rural Mukalla (13), Ghail bin Yamin (8), Doan (7), and several imported cases. Smaller clusters were reported in Brom Mayfa (4), Al-Raida & Qusayr (3), and Al-Dhalea (3).
