Ministry of Public Health Denies Reports of Cholera Cases, Urges Media for Accuracy

KABUL (BNA): In recent statement, the Ministry of Public Health in Afghanistan has categorically refuted the published reports regarding the presence of cholera cases and deaths within the country.

The ministry has highlighted that the information shared by certain media outlets is inaccurate and misleading, calling for professionalism and accuracy in reporting health-related matters.

The ministry’s statement references a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning the Eastern Mediterranean region, which allegedly utilized data on acute diarrhea, mistakenly associated with cholera. The Ministry of Public Health clarified that the data used in the report does not reflect the actual situation of cholera cases in Afghanistan.
