Smoking Cessation Clinic, Fitness Facilities Open at King Abdullah II Gardens

Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh on Tuesday inaugurated a comprehensive smoking cessation clinic, an outdoor gym, and a walking track at King Abdullah II Gardens in Mugabalein in Amman.

The initiative, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Jordan, aims to promote a healthier lifestyle by offering free services to quit smoking and promote physical activity.

The newly opened clinic provides King Abdullah II Gardens by specialists and offers medical tests, including carbon monoxide measurements, blood pressure, and blood sugar checks. Nutritional advice is also available, all in line with the WHO's strategy to reduce the risks associated with smoking and physical inactivity.

The new facilities, Shawarbeh emphasized, reflect the city’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for public health. He noted that the clinic and gym offer valuable opportunities for residents to quit smoking and incorporate regular physical activity into their daily lives, as part of a broader vision to prioritize health in the community.
