Morocco’s Ministry of Health announced the launch of 49 new urban and rural health centers across nine regions.

According to the ministry, the launch of the new health centers took place today under King Mohammed VI’s high directives aimed at “completing the reform of the national health system.”

The announcement comes at a time when Moroccan youth have been staging consistent protests across the country. The demonstrations have been calling for an urgent overhaul of the healthcare and education sectors.
