Marib Office of Public Health and Population has recorded 1,272 suspected and confirmed cases of measles between the beginning of 2026 and June 25, including 220 laboratory-confirmed cases. The disease has also been linked to six deaths, according to newly released statistics.

The figures indicate that measles continues to spread across the governorate, underscoring the need for intensified prevention and public health response efforts, particularly given the high population density caused by waves of internally displaced people, which have placed additional strain on the healthcare system.

Speaking to Yemen Monitor, Ziyad Al-Ra’i, Director of Media and Public Relations at the Marib Office of Public Health and Population, said the office continues to conduct epidemiological surveillance across all districts, monitor suspected cases, and respond to them in accordance with approved health protocols. The office is also carrying out community awareness campaigns to emphasize the importance of vaccination and the early reporting of suspected cases.
