Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met UNICEF Representative in Egypt Natalia Rossi, , and her accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, to discuss ways of strengthening joint cooperation in child health.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting reaffirmed UNICEF’s role as a key partner in supporting programs on child health, nutrition, immunization, and early childhood development, in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
He added that the talks focused on enhancing cooperation in primary healthcare and maternal and child health services, as well as expanding nutrition and vaccination programs.
The discussions also covered supporting digital transformation in the health sector, improving health information systems and data management, and strengthening the resilience of the healthcare system in responding to crises and public health emergencies.
The meeting further addressed expanding community awareness initiatives and building the capacity of primary healthcare workers, while stressing the importance of increasing uptake of presidential health initiatives.
