The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has been recognised as a health-promoting university as part of the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Bahrain.

 This initiative is a part of the "Health Promoting Universities" programme and it seeks to foster sustainable health policies and create a supportive environment for education and work within universities.

The announcement was made during an event held at AUBH, attended by Dr Diana Al Jahrami, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council; Dr Tasnim Atatrah, WHO Representative in Bahrain; and Dr Bradley J. Cook, President of AUBH.
