Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued a directive for citizens and residents planning to perform Umrah, emphasizing the critical importance of receiving necessary vaccinations. Individuals are required to visit healthcare facilities within their respective governorates to receive specific vaccines before undertaking their journey.

For protection against meningococcal menigitis, a single dose provides immunity for up to five years. Those who have previously vaccinated and can provide a proof are exempt from receveing the vaccine again until five years have passed since thier last dose. This measures continuous protection against the disease.
