UNICEF Libya Humanitarian Situation Report No. 6 (Storm Daniel and Flooding)

Highlights

  • UNICEF remains as a key partner of the government-led initiation of early recovery efforts with support of humanitarian actors, focusing on restoration of basic services, including reopening of schools, re-establishing primary care services, and maintaining water and sanitation networks.

  • Through civil society and local authorities' partners, UNICEF delivered almost four million litres of safe drinking water, equal to 11 litres per person for 16,022 people for 22 days. UNICEF also provided pumps and spare parts to the General Company for Water and Wastewater (GCWW) that enables the restoration of functionality of four non-functional boreholes in Derna, covering 25,000 people.
