SFDA Calls Childhood Obesity a Growing Risk, Says Prevention Begins at Home

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is raising awareness about crucial health practices to prevent childhood obesity, aligning with World Obesity Day on March 4.

In line with its mission to promote health awareness and prevent diet-related diseases, and in support of the Health Sector Transformation Program of Saudi Vision 2030, the SFDA emphasizes the critical role of families in safeguarding children's health.

In a press release, the SFDA's awareness campaign highlights the importance of establishing healthy habits within families. It urges parents to encourage children to replace sugary drinks, such as soft drinks, with water and natural fruit juices, and to significantly reduce fast-food consumption, a key contributor to weight gain and related health issues.
