The State of Palestine and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan signed today, Wednesday, their first-ever Memorandum of Understanding in the field of health and medicine.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Palestine by Ambassador Zuhair Hamdallah Zaid, authorized by the Palestinian government, and on behalf of Pakistan by Minister of Health Syed Mustafa Kamal. The signing ceremony, held in Islamabad, was attended from the Palestinian side by Counselor Tawfiq Khader, and from the Pakistani side by the Health Ministry’s Undersecretary, the Assistant Undersecretary, the President of the Pakistani Medical Association, and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the ceremony, the Pakistani Minister of Health affirmed his country’s unwavering support for the State of Palestine, noting that a joint meeting will soon be scheduled between the embassy and Pakistan’s Ministry of Health to discuss mechanisms for implementing the agreement.
