The Kabul Tribune (KT) — More than 20 million people accessed primary healthcare services across Afghanistan in 2025 through facilities and community platforms supported by the UNICEF, a senior UN official said on World Health Day.
Tajudeen Oyewale said that 60% of those who received care were women, while 5.6 million were children under the age of five.
He credited the achievement to the continued support of humanitarian partners, emphasizing that such large-scale service delivery would not be possible without their contributions.
Oyewale expressed gratitude to partners for sustaining healthcare services in the country, particularly amid ongoing challenges facing Afghanistan’s health sector.
The remarks highlight the critical role of international assistance in maintaining access to basic health services for millions of Afghans.
