Highlights

  • Since the last situation report published on 19 January 2023, 716 new cases (0.8% increase in total cases) and nine new deaths have been reported.

  • A WHO analysis of case-based data received over the last three months (21 October 2022 through 30 January 2023) shows that the age and sex distribution, severity and clinical presentation of mpox cases remain unchanged during that period, as the number of reported cases has steadily declined globally. Thirty-nine (39) countries continue to report mpox cases.

  • The IHR Emergency Committee on the multi-country mpox outbreak will reconvene for the fourth time on 9 February 2023.
