Morocco has expanded access to primary healthcare services for more than 375,000 people with the commissioning of 15 healthcare facilities across six regions, as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to modernize its national health system.

The facilities have been rehabilitated, equipped, and placed into service across Casablanca-Settat, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Beni Mellal-Khenifra, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Marrakech-Safi.

The latest rollout forms part of the national program aimed at upgrading 1,600 primary healthcare facilities across Morocco, with 500 targeted for completion by 2026.

The program is being implemented alongside the broader reform of the national healthcare system and Morocco’s efforts to expand social protection, with a focus on improving the availability and quality of basic medical services.

In Beni Mellal-Khenifra, four facilities have been established within the healthcare network. Three are located in the province of Azilal; the Guimmi, Bouhrazen, and Ait Ouirar rural dispensaries, while the Sidi Bouaabad dispensary has been commissioned in Khenifra.
