Health Minister Saleh Al-Hasnawi announced on Sunday the signing of a cooperation agreement with the French company Sanofi to develop the capabilities of the healthcare sector, noting that the company has plans to establish a factory in Iraq for drug production.
Al-Hasnawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The Iraqi government’s and Ministry of Health’s policy of openness to scientific advancements in various health fields has led to today’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and the globally recognized healthcare company, Sanofi.”
He explained that “the agreement aims to enhance the skills of workers in various health sectors, particularly nursing, in addition to automating many issues related to the registration of rare diseases and cancers.”
