The Jordan Media Commission on Wednesday instructed print and electronic publications, radio and television broadcasters, and accredited foreign media organizations in Jordan not to publish advertisements containing nutritional or health claims without prior approval from the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA).
The directive, based on a JFDA letter, covers claims such as "under medical or pharmaceutical supervision" and products advertised as burning or reducing body fat.
Media outlets must verify that advertised products have received the JFDA’s approval for licensing and advertising purposes before publishing such material.
