Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has met with Sudanese Health Minister Haitham Ibrahim Awadallah in Cairo’s New Administrative Capital to discuss ways to strengthen health cooperation between the two countries, the Egyptian Ministry of Health said in a statement on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Sudan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Imad El-Din Mostafa, along with senior officials from both sides.
According to the statement, discussions focused on mechanisms to support Sudan’s health system, enhance emergency response capacity, and expand joint efforts in combating epidemics and endemic diseases. Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide comprehensive assistance, including 200,000 boxes of infant formula and 200 oxygen cylinders, in addition to cooperation in the pharmaceutical and primary healthcare sectors.
