Muscat – Blood donation in Oman has increased 13% this year, highlighting the growing awareness of its importance. The upward trend continues from last year, which saw a 21% year-on-year rise in donations. This positive news was announced during the commemoration of World Blood Donor Day on Wednesday.

Dr Zainab al Arimi, Director of Blood Bank Services, lauded the ‘invaluable role’ played by blood donors and the collaborative efforts of various authorities. She attributed the rise in blood donations to the community’s heightened awareness of its significance, amplified by the media’s dissemination of this humanitarian message.
