MoPH: 27% of Afghan Citizens Regularly Use Tobacco

On World No Tobacco Day, the Ministry of Public Health said that twenty-seven percent of Afghan citizens regularly use tobacco, of which nearly three percent are women.

According to this ministry, more than forty-five percent of deaths in Afghanistan are caused by non-infectious diseases.

"Twenty-seven percent of Afghan citizens regularly use tobacco, and only 2.6 of them are women,” said Mohammad Hassan Ghiyacy, deputy of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Public Health.
