The first-ever Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week will be held from 28 to 31 March 2022 in Dubai, hosted by the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
MENA Climate Week 2022 provides a platform for governments, cities, private sector leaders, financial institutions and civil society to discuss opportunities to build forward from the pandemic by identifying opportunities to enhance climate action. The event will bring together key stakeholders to take the pulse of climate action in the region, explore climate challenges and opportunities and showcase ambitious solutions.
The event will build on the outcomes of COP26 and explore resilience against climate risks, the transition to a low-emission economy and collaboration to solve pressing challenges. It will accelerate collaboration and integrate climate action into global pandemic recovery.
On the margins of MENA Climate Week 2022, the UAE Climate Change Research Network will be hosting a research conference, with the aim of further exploring the work undertaken by members of varying research clusters and providing a framework for the current state of knowledge in the field. The conference will underline the importance of unity among the researchers and support further dissemination of knowledge in this field.
