In the wards of Dr Muhammad Waasim Maaz Hospital, also known as Bab al Salama Surgical Hospital in Azaz, northwestern Syria, healthcare workers face a complex challenge every day: treating patients suffering from infections complicated by antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
