Health officials today said they recorded 317 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours with most patients reporting in health facilities in southwestern Barishal region.

"During the period, (of the 317) 127 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division," which appeared to have been the worst victim of the mosquito carried diseases, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

It said among the rests, 70 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 52 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 22 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 13 in Khulna and 7 in Mymensingh division.
