The Ministry of Health, under the Government of National Unity, has approved a major restructuring plan for regional health services, in what officials describe as the most significant administrative overhaul since 2007.

The ministry announced on Monday that the approval, carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Civil Service, follows recommendations from a specialised committee tasked with drafting proposals for a new organisational structure, performance standards, and staffing levels across regional health departments.

According to the statement, the move comes in response to directives from Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and follows the committee’s fourth coordination meeting, as well as a recent discussion between Deputy Health Minister Mohamed Al-Ghuj and Civil Service Minister Ali Al-Abed.
