In urban areas, the average Syrian household consists of 5.5 members, with an equal split between males and females. Nearly half of the household members are under 18 years old. Among household members aged 15 or older, 59 per cent were married, and 33 per cent were single . In terms of education levels, 21 per cent of respondents have completed secondary education, 65 per cent have received elementary to basic education, and only 5 per cent hold a university degree. At the household level, 71 per cent of households are headed by males, with 63 per cent of them being 36 years old or older. Only 19 per cent of household heads have completed either secondary education or a university degree (13 and 6 per cent, respectively). Almost all households have been living in Jordan before 2022, with the average household income being around 220 JOD. About 97 per cent of household heads stated they possess a security card, with 92 per cent of them obtaining the card in their current living location. However, 76 per cent of them holds a valid security card.
