According to informed sources, the Ministry of Health is considering providing a booster dose via the bivalent vaccine within the next few weeks to prevent the original COVID-19 virus and its variants, reports Al-Rai daily. They said, “A shipment of the Moderna’s bivalent (double) vaccine will arrive in Kuwait soon, in preparation for the start of providing booster doses to those who wish, with the aim of confronting the new mutations and building continuous immunity among the members of society.” The Ministry of Health announced Wednesday the detection of the XBB.1.5 variant in Kuwait that belongs to a subset of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 virus.
