GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi said GCC health ministers discussed implementing leaders' directives from their April 28 meeting in Jeddah to enhance health security and ensure continuity of health services.
This came during the extraordinary meeting of the Committee of the Ministers of Health of the GCC states, held today via videoconference, chaired by Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain and President of the current session Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan.
The secretary-general stated that the ministers welcomed the steps taken to begin implementing the leaders' directives. They also discussed and reviewed the initial steps to start planning the implementation of these projects on the ground, including strategies for building regional medical stockpiles, coordinating emergency health response protocols, and enhancing shared disease surveillance systems. These efforts aim to strengthen joint GCC medical readiness to confront crises and disasters.
