UN: Women Returned from Iran Face Barriers to Health Services in Afghanistan

The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) says that many women face significant challenges in accessing health, sanitary, and basic care items after being returned from Iran to Afghanistan.

The organization reported on Sunday, June 21, that some returning women, after entering Afghanistan, are unable to obtain even the most basic care items and find themselves in vulnerable conditions.

The UNFPA added that to support these women, health kits and psychosocial support services are being provided to them.

The organization emphasized that such services play an important role in strengthening the mental and physical health of women returned from neighboring countries, including Iran.
