Nursing Council, WHO Discuss Cooperation

The Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday discussed cooperation on developing nursing specialties, supporting mental health programs, and improving healthcare quality in the Kingdom.

JNC Secretary-General Hani Nawafleh and WHO Representative to Jordan Iman Shankiti discussed strengthening the competency of the nursing workforce and developing continuing education and training programs in line with international best practices, as part of efforts to expand their strategic partnership in nursing and midwifery, according to a JNC statement.

They reviewed current and future cooperation, including joint initiatives aimed at improving healthcare outcomes and advancing national health sector priorities.

During a visit, Shankiti toured JNC’s Nursing Simulation Center and reviewed its high-fidelity equipment and training capabilities. The Center's Supervisor Tahani Khalil outlined its role in developing nurses’ clinical and practical skills through realistic learning environments that enhance professional competency and patient safety.
