In Gaza, over one million Palestinians do not have sufficient shelter. Now winter is approaching, bringing cold, rainy weather. Despite the fact that Israel allows very few shipments of aid to enter Gaza, the Norwegian Refugee Councill (NRC) is managing to provide essential assistance.
Nagham, 19, has been displaced from her home in Gaza due to the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Palestinian armed groups. For over a year, she has been moving from place to place, trying to find shelter from the bombs. At times, she has had to sleep out in the open.
In October, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) provided Nagham and her family – five people in total – with their own tent. This gives them some protection against wind and bad weather.
“We are thankful for the tent. But it is not enough to cover life’s necessities,” says Nagham.
