Dr. Hanan Hassan Balkhy, Regional Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO) for the Eastern Mediterranean, met with several officials and representatives of national health teams and committees during her visit to Bahrain, in the presence of Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health.

The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in public health and support national health priorities.

The minister highlighted the importance of adopting a collaborative approach across sectors in shaping public health policies and strategies. She underscored the need to enhance partnerships with national and international stakeholders to support the implementation of health programmes and invest in the development of healthcare professionals, thereby boosting the efficiency of Bahrain’s health system and supporting the achievement of health related Sustainable Development Goals.
