The Acting Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Dr. Hanan Hassan Balkhi, Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as representatives from UNICEF’s Eastern Region, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and several other officials responsible for Afghanistan.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Public Health, the discussions focused on enhancing healthcare services in Afghanistan, strengthening polio vaccination and prevention initiatives, establishing healthcare centers along major highways, treating and preventing malnutrition, conducting related surveys, controlling communicable diseases, and attracting international assistance for the health sector.
