The Ministry of Health today organized a consultative session to update the National Policy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases.
The session, which saw the participation of representatives of different sectors, was aimed to ensure comprehensiveness and integration, identify gaps and national priorities and exchange view about standard methods of governance, evaluation and follow-up mechanisms.
HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University (Chairperson of the National Committee for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases), outlined the progress made by the Sultanate of Oman in the field of non-communicable diseases. She stressed the need to consolidate cooperation and teamwork towards the realization of the goals of the policy.
