Iraq’s Minister of Health, Salih Al-Hasnawi, confirmed today, Saturday (December 13, 2025), that Iraq, as a founding nation and key pillar of the Arab Board of Health Specializations, is working to establish new medical training centers in several Arab countries. Al-Hasnawi also highlighted that Iraqis account for 30% of the top-performing graduates in the Arab Board.

Speaking after the second meeting of the Arab Board’s Supreme Ministerial Committee in Amman, Jordan, Al-Hasnawi stated that the meeting, chaired by Iraq, focused on developing medical education, regulating medical practice, and expanding the training of nurses and other health cadres across the Arab world.

Al-Hasnawi indicated that the discussions covered the Council’s five-year and future plans, which include:

• Expansion of Studies: Broadening the scope of available medical studies.
• New Centers: Opening new specialization training centers in various Arab countries.
• New Members: The potential inclusion of new Arab states, particularly from North Africa.
