The World Health Organization (WHO) has sounded the alarm over escalating health risks in Yemen as fresh outbreaks of infectious diseases, notably cholera and measles, continue to emerge. 

The agency stressed that the country’s fragile health sector remains under immense pressure amid growing humanitarian needs.

WHO reported that interventions funded through the Yemen Humanitarian Fund have bolstered the readiness of health facilities, enhancing their capacity to respond to epidemic emergencies, particularly in the most vulnerable areas.

Four health centers were supplied with medical provisions, including treatments for infectious diseases, rehydration solutions, essential medicines, and specialized equipment for emergency field teams. These measures, the organization said, strengthened the speed and effectiveness of responses to suspected cases and helped curb the spread of infections.
