PU-AMI provides free, quality primary health care to remote and hard-to-reach areas through the use of Mobile Health Teams (MHT). Once a week, every Tuesday, from 8am - 4pm, the MHT stops in Sheen* village and transforms the village’s mosque into a small health facility. An additional blue tent next to the mosque serves as a waiting area, but also as a sheltered space for women and children to receive psychosocial counseling in groups.

2 medical doctors, 1 midwife, 1 vaccinator, 1 community organizer, 2 psychosocial support (PSS) providers, 1 pharmacy technician, 1 health and hygiene promoter, 1 nutrition counselor provide preventive and curative services for common communicable diseases, ANC and post-natal care (PNC) services, immunizations, nutrition services and screening for children under five and pregnant and lactating women, and PSS group counseling for women and men. The ten-members health team provides all services in accordance with the Afghan Basic Health Package and international quality standards, including equipment and medicines carried by the MHT.
