The IHR Review Committee regarding Standing Recommendations for mpox is convened pursuant to Articles 16, 50.1.(b) and 53 of the IHR, also considering the advice of the IHR Emergency Committee on the Multi-Country Outbreak of mpox. This Review Committee is holding its first meeting on 27 July 2023. Noting that, on 11 May 2023, the multi-country outbreak of mpox ceased to constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, and that Temporary Recommendations, valid until 10 August 2023, were issued pursuant to Article 15 of the IHR, this Review Committee is providing its views and technical advice to the Director-General with respect to Standing Recommendations for mpox, as proposed by the Director-General.
