The Ministry of Health and Population has screened over 8 million primary school students for anaemia, obesity and dwarfism since 2019, according to the most recent official figures released on Sunday.
The screenings were conducted by 2,400 medical teams on students aged 6 to 12 in 30,000 public and private schools, explained Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the health ministry.
